Behind an impressive start by Ed Wales, Louisville beat Philadelphia, 2-1. Wales got the win, improving to 28-30. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Colts now have a mark of 50-53.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Unions allowed the Colts to score the winning run.
