The Philadelphia Unions topped the Pittsburgh Vulcans, 8-7, in 11 innings at Girard Grounds II. The game was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia second baseman Jeff Scruggs. Philadelphia reliever Thomas Goss picked up the win, upping his record to 10-2. Stanley Lamb was saddled with the loss. With this game in the books, Philadelphia is 20-14, Pittsburgh 20-16.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With one out, Scruggs hit a fastball from Stanley Lamb for a run-scoring single. The Unions, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Scruggs.
