| Excelsiors Popped by Pilots, 8-2 | Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Pilots beat the Excelsiors.
The St. Louis Pilots knocked off the New York Excelsiors, 8-2, in International Association action at Fuchs Park. St. Louis pitcher and Lonaconing, Maryland, native Bulldog Ayers had an outstanding performance. With the loss, New York is 2-2.
The Pilots benefited from an error in the bottom of the third inning. St. Louis was leading 1-0 when John Tennison hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put St. Louis in front, 2-0.
