| Bannermen Take Down Vulcans, 3-2, in 10 | The Baltimore Bannermen picked up a win at Banner Field, downing the Pittsburgh Vulcans, 3-2, in 10 innings. Batting in the bottom of the tenth, 31-year old left fielder Curt Johnston had a real shot to win the game. Pittsburgh pitcher Dennis Catchings was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Johnston hit a run-scoring single. The Bannermen had a walk-off triumph.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Bannermen manager . "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
