Excelsiors Suffer 11-8 Setback
The Toronto Provincials used the hitting of catcher Standpipe Read to subdue the New York Excelsiors, 11-8, in 10 innings. For the game, Read went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. After today's action, Toronto sits at 55-48, while New York falls to 35-65.
