Baltimore Pins 4-2 Loss on Pilots | Baltimore pitcher Dennis Durr did his part in helping his team defeat the St. Louis Pilots, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Durr got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The loss drops the Pilots to 3-5.
Baltimore used a well-timed hit by Bill Michell to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Bannermen ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Baltimore skipper . | | | | |
