| Robins Drop Sturgeons, 2-1 | Genessee Grounds hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Rochester turned a good effort from starting pitcher Andy Christenson into a win over the Detroit Sturgeons at Genessee Grounds. The final score was 2-1 in 10 innings. Christenson, now 2-3, was the winner. In 10 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.
The Robins got a clutch hit from first baseman Larry Buckley. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Robins.
"That's baseball," said Detroit manager . "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
The Sturgeons, now 5-10, continue their inauspicious start.
